We recently asked you- our members, supporters, and critics- for feedback through surveys and interviews. Thank you to everybody who participated! We received very insightful feedback about your priorities for the upcoming years. In response, we have created four goals that will focus our resources for the next few years. These goals will be revisited on an annual basis, and we will constantly strive to act on issues pertinent to windsurfing in the Gorge.
CGWA Goals:
1) Create new access sites to the Columbia River; improve and protect existing ones.
- Create new windsurfing sites in the Columbia River Gorge
- Improve and protect existing windsurfing sites in the Gorge
2) Build an engaged and energized community of windsurfers in the Gorge.
- Encourage open lines of communication between windsurfing and nonwindsurfing communities
- Support an inclusive array of windsurfing programs and events
- Encourage local participation in windsurfing, and encourage windsurfers to participate in nonwindsurfing local events
- Develop and implement a marketing plan to create and maintain a favorable image
3) Be responsive to and representative of the membership.
- Prioritize excellence and clarity in outgoing communication to membership
- Accurately identify and act upon membership priorities
- Create partnerships and alliances with other community organizations
4) Create a financially sustainable organization that proactively addresses growing and changing resource needs.
- Create an annual business plan which includes a budget and organizational priorities
- Develop efficient fiscal and data management tools
- Develop policies to ensure proper fiscal management and compliance with Oregon and federal nonprofit laws and standard nonprofit procedures
- Prioritize continuous improvement of the skills and leadership within CGWA
