Event Site, Oregon
The Event Site is an intermediate/advanced sailing site. The newly formed sand bar protects the launch area and a wide swath of river from the current. Many sailors use the Event Site as a launching point for sailing downriver to Wells Isand, the Hatchery, and Swell City.
The Event Site's large grass rigging area and various shade areas attracts families where mom and dad can keep a keen eye on their sailing brood. Summer weekends can be crowded with weekend warriors coming from around the U.S. and travelers from international countries.
Daily and Seasonal parking passes are available and is strictly enforced.
Please note that kiteboarding, launching or landing, is not allowed at the Event Site.
Port of Hood River Policy For Event Site Use
- Park facilities are open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Diving or jumping off the cruise ship dock is prohibited
- You must obtain permission from the Port to engage in a commercial activity while on Port property
- No overnight camping on Port property
- Windsurfing allowed at the Event Site in designated areas
- Kiteboard or training kite flying, launching or landing is not allowed at the Event Site
- Dogs are required to be on leash at all times except at the Hook one hour before and one hour after sunrise and one hour before and after sunset or at the Spit one hour before and one hour after sunrise.
- Please use the handy Pet-Pickup Bags provided to keep our beaches , grass and walkways clean
- Please obey all posted signs on Port property.
- Lost and Found is located at the Port Services Building, across from the Museum as you enter the Marina Park parking area. 541-386-3200.
Parking Pass Info
Port of Hood River parking fees are as shown below. The fee booth is usually manned at site from Memorial Day to Labor Day to collect fees. Attendants sell daily, weekly and season passes. At other times, season passes can be purchased at the Port Office (at the Hood River Marina) or by Port of Hood River,
