The Washington State Parks Foundation invites requests for funding to complete community-based or volunteer projects in state parks.

Project eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • Projects must have written approval of the park manager, regional manager, and resource regional manager.
  • Project applicants must be able to demonstrate compliance with all applicable state and federal environmental, SEPA, and permit requirements and park management plans.
  • All proposed projects must be capable of being completed within the 2003 calendar year and without the need for funding in addition to the grant and funds already committed to the project
  • Applicants must comply with published requirements including timelines for submittal of project proposals to Washington State Parks. The submittal for this solicitation is no later than 5P.M, July 18, 2003. 
  • Proposal letters must be no longer than two pages, but may include attachments of drawings or supportive letters concerning the projects.  Please include your name, telephone number, and if possible, an e-mail address with your project proposal.
  • Proposals submissions are preferred on disk, e-mail or CD.  Please note that the Commission is particularly interested in trails projects.

The Washington State Parks Foundation (WSPF) is a private, nonprofit, tax-exempt organization founded in 2001.  The foundation is governed by a volunteer citizen board that represents all areas of the state, to help care for Washington state parks.  WSPF is committed to sustaining these parks for future generations to enjoy.
