Below is a summary of work parties which occured during the past three years. Following the site name links to see a full history of work parties and activities occuring at that site.
Work Parties Completed in 2007
- October 9, 2007 - Work Party at Doug's Beach , annual clean-up.
- September 29, 2007 - Work Party at Spring Creek Hatchery, annual clean-up.
- May 26, 2007 - Work Party at Spring Creek Hatchery, general beach beautification.
- May 18, 2007- Hood River Sandbar- Debris cleanup hosted by Col. Gorge. Kiteboarders Assoc.
- April 21, 2007- Roosevelt- Beautification work.
Work Parties Completed in 2006
- April 29, 2006- Roosevelt Park- Worked on lawn and shoreline plus litter clean-up.
- June 10, 2006- Doug's Beach- Continue construction - 2 extra links of fencing; pull weeds, especially perennial pepperweed fill in washout area with dirt fill; tamp down remove beach debris; replaced metal stakes with wood tend to three trees being washed out by high water; and litter pick up
- June 17, 2006- Spring Creek Hatchery- Litter Pickup - lots of little stuff everywhere: parking lot, riprap rocks, beach areas, etc. Weed Pulling - knapweed, scotch broom, & blackberries are all back. Pruning - the small new shoots head height & lower to keep access areas & views clear. Beach Cleanups - along east end coves, of the deadwood & other debris that have collected with the water's rise. Establishing Rock Stairway - east of the vault toilet
- Sept 30, 2006- Spring Creek Hatchery- Primarily litter pickup as well as invasive weed control: blackberries, knapweed, and scotch broom.
- Oct 7, 2006- Doug's Beach- Remove beach debris. Pick up trash. Protect trees with wire mesh.
Work Parties Completed in 2005
- September 24, 2005- Doug's Beach- Trim branches. Pick up trash & other debris.
- May 21, 2005- Spring Creek Hatchery- Volunteers will be working with WA State Park rangers, spreading wood chips on footpaths, cleaning up debris and improving “staircase” near vault toilel.
- May 28, 2005- Doug's Beach- Remove thistle from parking areas. Remove driftwood from beach. Trim branches. Pick up trash & other debris.
- May 14, 2005- The Hook- Move fallen rocks from ramps back to walls; trim overgrown bushes from ramps; weed/cleanup rigging areas; trash cleanup; knapweed removal
- April 30, 2005- Roosevelt Park- This work party is scheduled in conjunction with the Roosevelt town cleanup. Work on lawn and shoreline, and if enough volunteers, move on up to town. Worked on lawn and shoreline.
Work Parties Completed in 2004
- September 25, 2004- Spring Creek Hatchery- Trash & debris cleanup, removed non-native plants, repaired trails, cleaned coves and shoreline & brush removal for improved parking.
- August 7, 2004- Spring Creek Hatchery- Washington State Park rangers asked the volunteers to bring gardening tools and gloves for landscape maintenance, knapweed eradication, and other site cleanup work.
- June 19, 2004- Doug's Beach- Clear driftwood from beach, clean up trash
- May 22, 2004- The Hook and West Mayer- General beautification work.
