Nothing beats time-on-the water for honing your windsurfng skills! CGWA is excited to extend our drop-in evening practices session to three nites a week this summer! As in the past, these sessions provide a safe, fun, supervised environment where youth can develop their windsurfing skills and mix it up with other young rippers.

click to see larger photoWho? Any youth, 10 years or older, who have prior windsurfing experience (i.e. have completed a beginning level class with a local shop or with the Hood River Parks and Recreation Community Windsurfing Program). Participants should be familiar with safety rules and self-rescue and should be able to beach start, uphaul, and sail out and return to the same place.

What? Free drop-in practice. These are supervised sailing sessions for kids who have previous windsurfing experience. We provide the gear and supervision; however, no formal instruction is included.

Where? The Hook at the west end of the Hood River waterfront. Dikes surround this area and much of it is shallow enough to stand. It's a great place to practice and develop skills!
